Lambing Season Concludes Successfully in Mary Velayat

Post by : Shakul

Mary Velayat's livestock farmers have wrapped up a successful lambing season, a crucial milestone for the agricultural landscape of the area. This season significantly contributes to the rising population of sheep and goats, bolstering food availability, rural income, and agricultural prosperity. The effective implementation of this campaign showcases the commitment of farmers and the growth of livestock farming in this region.

The livestock industry in Turkmenistan is making steady strides, aided by government initiatives and modern agricultural techniques. Farmers are increasingly prioritizing quality over mere quantity, adopting better feeding regimens, enhanced breeding methodologies, and consistent health assessments to cultivate robust and healthy livestock.

The prestigious “Maldar” livestock farm in the Sakarchage region has emerged as a leading force in this achievement, reaching its production goals by raising 66,485 healthy lambs and kids from over 73,000 breeding females. This accomplishment is significant, showcasing meticulous planning and diligent animal care throughout the lambing season.

The triumph of the lambing season owes much to the dedication and expertise of shepherds and farm staff. They are skillfully merging traditional practices with modern veterinary knowledge, effectively managing animal health, mitigating risks, and enhancing the survival rates of newborns.

In the aftermath of the lambing event, a focus has shifted towards nurturing and developing the young livestock. Farm specialists and veterinarians are proactively visiting grazing fields to advise shepherds, oversee animal health, and validate adherence to feeding and care protocols. This stewardship is critical for cultivating a thriving and productive livestock base.

The lambs are being raised in fertile areas like Taz guyy and Harazly, known for their nutrient-rich resources that promote swift growth and health in livestock. Effective grazing strategies ensure that animals align with veterinary standards, minimizing disease risks.

As the team prepares for the upcoming summer months, staff are inspecting water sources, mending irrigation apparatus, and strategizing optimal grazing land use. These preparations are vital for managing the heat and ensuring that livestock have ample access to water and nourishment during the summer.

Following the conclusion of lambing, farmers have also initiated the spring sheep shearing campaign, which not only enhances animal comfort in warmer temperatures but also yields wool, an essential source of income. The ongoing efforts of livestock farmers reflect a bright outlook and significant progress in the region's agricultural sector.
