His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said paid a special fraternal visit to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, in Doha today.
During the visit, the two leaders held a fraternal meeting at the Government Palace in the Qatari capital. Discussions focused on the development of bilateral relations and ways to strengthen existing cooperation between Oman and Qatar across various sectors.
The meeting also reviewed opportunities to further develop cooperation in areas that serve the common interests and aspirations of the two countries.
A number of senior Omani officials accompanied Sultan Haitham during the meeting.
The Omani delegation included His Highness Sayyid Bal’arab bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of State and Governor of Muscat; His Excellency Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Royal Court; His Excellency Lieutenant General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu’mani, Minister of the Royal Office; and His Excellency Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior.
Also attending were His Excellency Engineer Salem bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals; His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Ya’rub Al Busaidi, Advisor at the Private Office; and His Excellency Ambassador Sayyid Ammar bin Abdullah Al Busaidi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the State of Qatar.
The Qatari side was represented by several senior officials, including His Excellency Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs; His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya); and His Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, Head of the Amiri Diwan.
Those attending also included His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Tamim Al Thani; His Excellency Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs; His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Thani Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry; and His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Thani, Minister of Transport.
His Excellency Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and His Excellency Ambassador Sheikh Mubarak bin Fahd Al Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Sultanate of Oman, were also present.
Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani was among those who welcomed and later bid farewell to Sultan Haitham at the Amiri Terminal of Hamad International Airport.
The Qatar Emir was accompanied by a number of senior Qatari officials during the Sultan’s arrival and departure.
