The Friends of The Environment Center, affiliated with the Ministry of Sports and Youth, has successfully concluded its "Summer of Sustainability 2026" program after a month of educational activities focused on environmental awareness, innovation, and practical learning.
The program brought together 93 male and female students from different schools. Participants took part in eight specialized workshops covering a wide range of environmental and sustainability topics. They also joined six field visits, where they explored practical environmental projects and learned about national efforts aimed at protecting the environment.
Program Focused on Building Environmental Awareness
Speaking at the closing event, Executive Director Dr. Farhoud Hadi Al Hajri said the "Summer of Sustainability 2026" program reflects the center's commitment to investing in people as the foundation of sustainable development.
He explained that the initiative was designed to offer more than a traditional summer program. Instead, it provided an educational and developmental experience that helped children and young people strengthen their understanding of environmental responsibility while encouraging them to become active contributors to protecting natural resources.

Interactive Learning Encouraged Sustainable Habits
Dr. Al Hajri said the program combined interactive workshops, scientific activities, field visits, and volunteer initiatives to give participants opportunities to learn through real-life experiences.
He added that this practical approach helped connect environmental knowledge with everyday actions, encouraging participants to adopt sustainable habits that benefit both society and the environment.
Strong Community Support Strengthened the Initiative
The Friends of The Environment Center also expanded its collaboration with 21 government, national, and private sector organizations during the program. In addition, 19 volunteers supported the planning and delivery of the activities.
According to the center, these partnerships and volunteer efforts demonstrate the program's success in promoting volunteerism and encouraging community cooperation in environmental initiatives.

The closing ceremony concluded with the Friends of The Environment Center recognizing its sponsors, strategic partners, volunteers, and participants for their valuable contributions and support in making the "Summer of Sustainability 2026" program a success.
