The Tadweer Group is broadening the reach of its state-of-the-art waste management system, Tajmee’e, to the northern and northeastern parts of Abu Dhabi. This significant expansion represents a crucial step in bolstering the emirate's environmental framework.
Areas included in this expansion are Khalifa City, Shakhbout City, Yas Island, Al Rahba, Al Shahama, Al Samha, Ghantoot, and the Abu Dhabi Airport vicinity.
Tajmee’e operates as a fully integrated waste collection framework. It employs AI for routing, real-time monitoring from a central command unit, and in-vehicle safety technologies that ensure driver alertness. The system also gathers data to optimize collection routes based on actual needs, enhancing operational efficiency and reliability as it scales up.
Etienne Petit, CEO of Tadweer Group, emphasized that a robust waste collection system is vital for a successful circular economy. He noted that enhancing the quality and efficiency of collection at the community level is essential to decreasing landfill waste. This expansion aids Abu Dhabi's commitment to diverting 80% of waste from landfills by the year 2031.
New offerings include collection services for residential, commercial, and bulky waste. The initiative has seen the deployment of over 100 vehicles, with a support team of more than 270 trained personnel. During this phase, the team completed 1,509 hours of technical training alongside 1,360 hours focused on health, safety, and environment protocols, achieving a commendable zero Lost Time Injury record.
Ashly Alex, CEO of Tajmee’e, affirmed that the system is designed to ensure optimal performance throughout its expansion phase. The operational model guarantees total visibility, control, and rapid response capabilities across the network, which aids in upholding consistent service excellence.
Following this expansion, Tajmee’e services now cover 29 districts in the northern regions of Abu Dhabi, with plans for additional growth as Tadweer continues to develop a comprehensive waste management system across the emirate.
This expansion is pivotal in enhancing Abu Dhabi's circular economy. As the initial phase of waste management, effective collection facilitates recycling, processing, and energy production throughout the emirate.
