Thailand Boosts Career Clinics to Support Job Seekers

Post by : Shakul

In a bid to assist job seekers, the Department of Employment in Thailand is enlarging its Career Clinics initiative, aimed at unemployed individuals, recent graduates, and those facing career obstacles in the evolving labor market. This program is crafted to offer tailored career guidance and employment assistance amidst ongoing economic fluctuations and swift technological advancements.

As noted by Department of Employment Director-General Somchai Morakotsriwan, the dynamic economic environment and technological progress have reshaped the job landscape. While many traditional roles are phasing out, fresh career avenues are surfacing, prompting workers to adapt their skills and expertise to maintain a competitive edge.

The Career Clinics initiative features extensive counseling services to help individuals pinpoint ideal career trajectories that resonate with their skills, interests, personality types, and career aspirations. This initiative is particularly beneficial for those in quest of new job opportunities, career changes, or ways to tackle workplace challenges and stress.

An integral aspect of this initiative is its cadre of career counselors, trained in psychology. These professionals offer aptitude evaluations, career planning insights, job preparation assistance, and recommend skill development programs that meet the present labor market's needs. Participants can also receive mentorship on self-employment and entrepreneurial endeavors.

The Department has set up 28 service points throughout Thailand and has mobilized 38 career counselors along with specialized personnel to encourage public access. Aside from traditional consultations, outreach projects are also in motion to connect with communities and individuals who might have difficulty accessing governmental employment aids.

The initiative has already yielded notable outcomes within the first seven months of the fiscal year 2026. From October 2025 to April 2026, over 14,000 individuals benefited from the Career Clinics program. Out of these, 7,749 people successfully found jobs, contributing to an estimated total annual income of over 67.5 million baht.

Officials underscore that this program illustrates the government’s dedication to bolstering workforce resilience and assisting citizens during economic transitions. As labor markets continue to transform, Career Clinics are expected to significantly aid workers in establishing sustainable careers, enhancing financial stability, and improving their overall quality of life.
