In a bid to enhance regional defense collaboration, Thailand’s senior officials attended the opening of the DSA NATSEC Asia 2026 event in Kuala Lumpur.

The delegation, headed by Tharaphong Malakham, included representatives from the armed forces, and participated in this prominent international defense gathering running from April 20 to 23, 2026.

The ceremony was inaugurated by Anwar Ibrahim and featured high-ranking officials from 76 nations, underpinning its status as a vital global defense platform.

Recognized as one of the key defense exhibitions in the Asia-Pacific region, DSA NATSEC Asia 2026 showcased over 1,400 companies from 63 countries. The event spotlights advancements in defense technology and resilience.

Thailand's participation offers a chance to explore global movements in emerging defense technologies, including unmanned aerial systems, AI, and automation. These innovations are crucial for enhancing the operational efficiency of the armed forces.

Furthermore, the event acts as a venue for fostering partnerships with international defense organizations, providing avenues for knowledge exchange and collaboration within the global defense sector.

During his visit, the Permanent Secretary explored booths featuring Thai defense products currently in use by the armed forces, indicating the country’s aspirations in the international defense arena.

He also visited exhibits showcasing foreign naval construction expertise, particularly in frigates, aligning with Thailand’s ambitions to bolster its domestic shipbuilding capabilities through strategic partnerships.
