In a decisive move, the National Assembly of Vietnam has elected To Lam as President for the 2026–2031 term, with unanimous backing from all 495 delegates present during the voting.
Upon his election, President To Lam took his oath, vowing allegiance to the nation's principles and the Constitution. He expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him by the citizens, the Party, and the State.
The Assembly is currently engaged in electing the Prime Minister, utilizing a secret ballot system, while discussions about the government's structure and the selection of key roles such as Vice President and judicial leaders are actively taking place.
