A catastrophic fire engulfed a pub in Bangkok in the early hours of Monday, resulting in the deaths of 27 individuals and injuring numerous others, as reported by Thai authorities. The inferno quickly spread across the establishment, trapping patrons inside before firefighters intervened to extinguish the flames.
The fire erupted shortly after midnight at the Na Ladprao pub located in northern Bangkok, prompting an extensive emergency response. Fire crews and rescue teams were dispatched promptly after the incident was reported.
Officials indicated that 63 people sustained injuries during the fire outbreak. Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt confirmed that 22 individuals are in critical condition and are currently being treated at various hospitals.
Footage captured by first responders portrayed flames erupting from the entrance as terrified patrons attempted to escape. Dense black smoke rapidly filled the venue, hindering many from locating an exit.
Following the incident, Thailand's Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul visited the site and verified the unfortunate death toll of 27.

In remarks to the press, the Prime Minister mentioned that musicians at the venue observed smoke emanating from a circuit breaker close to the stage moments before a power failure occurred. This was followed by a loud explosion, causing flames to spread swiftly throughout the establishment.
Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt stated that the flames advanced rapidly, igniting decorative materials affixed to the ceiling. The resultant thick and hazardous smoke filled the pub in mere moments, trapping numerous patrons inside.
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul mentioned many victims were found near the restroom area at the back of the establishment, implying they had been attempting to escape the encroaching smoke and fire. He noted that the majority of fatalities resulted from smoke inhalation rather than burn injuries.
It took firefighters around 30 minutes to control the intense fire.
Images from the aftermath revealed extensive damage within the pub—including charred furnishings, blackened walls, and widespread devastation caused by the blaze.
Thai authorities have commenced an investigation to uncover the precise cause of the fire. Officials are scrutinizing the circumstances surrounding the smoke from the circuit breaker and eyewitness accounts detailing the explosion prior to the flames erupting.
At this time, no official determination regarding the fire's cause has been released.
This latest incident ranks among the most catastrophic fires at entertainment venues in Thailand in recent years.
In 2022, a fire in a music pub in eastern Thailand resulted in 14 fatalities and many more injuries.
An even more devastating fire occurred on New Year's Day in 2009 at Bangkok's Santika nightclub, attributed to an indoor fireworks display, resulting in 66 deaths and over 200 injuries.
