Tripura Student Arrested Over Assault of Young Girl

Post by : Shakul

In Tripura, a Class 9 student has been apprehended in connection with the alleged assault of a six-year-old girl in Khowai district. The incident, which has left the community reeling, prompted local authorities to launch an immediate investigation under the POCSO Act.

Reports indicate that the incident occurred while the girl was home with her older sister, as their parents were absent for work commitments. The boy reportedly lured the girl to his residence by enticing her with flowers.

Upon their return, the girl's parents found her in distress and noticed visible injuries on her body. Concerned, they questioned her, learning about the incident, and subsequently alerted the police.

Local residents intervened, capturing the alleged assailant and handing him over to the authorities. A case has been officially registered under the POCSO Act, and legal proceedings are underway.

Authorities confirmed that the child underwent a medical examination, and her family's statements have been documented. The investigation continues with the accused currently in custody.

This troubling event has sparked heightened concerns regarding child safety in the region. Officials have urged the public to refrain from disclosing the child's identity on social media.
