U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a new warning to Iran, saying its leadership could “go into a cave and hide” if it keeps resisting talks with Washington.
Speaking to reporters, Trump said the United States is still holding serious discussions with Iran, but he claimed Tehran has not made enough progress toward a deal. “We are talking to them seriously,” Trump said, adding that Iran “doesn’t seem to be able to get there,” before saying, “Maybe now they will.”
Trump also suggested that military action could remain an option if diplomacy does not work. Referring to Iran’s underground military sites, he said the country has “caves very deep in the ground” and hinted that a “higher-level” strike could be considered if negotiations fail.
His remarks show that the Trump administration is continuing to use both pressure and diplomacy in dealing with Iran. The message appears to be that the U.S. is willing to talk, but it is also prepared to act more strongly if needed.
Trump’s comments come at a time when the Middle East remains highly unstable. Fighting in the region is spreading across several fronts, increasing fears of a wider conflict.
The ongoing violence has raised tensions across the region, disrupted shipping routes, and created worries about global energy supplies. So far, diplomatic efforts have not led to a major breakthrough.

The latest comments suggest the U.S. wants Iran back at the negotiating table, but with stronger pressure attached. Analysts say this approach combines public warnings, military threats, and continued diplomatic contact.
For now, the situation remains uncertain as regional governments and global markets watch closely for any sign of escalation or renewed talks.
