On May 14, 2026, in Beijing, Turkmen students studying in China proudly showcased their cultural heritage during the 22nd International Youth Cultural Festival. Hosted at Chengxin Square of the University of International Business and Economics, the event embraced the theme “Lead the Tide, Embrace the World,” connecting youth from over a hundred nations to celebrate cultural diversity and friendship.

Supported by the Turkmenistan Embassy in China, these active participants highlighted their nation’s rich cultural traditions. Their involvement emphasized Turkmenistan’s dedication to cultural exchange, peace, and collaborative youth engagement on a global stage.

A distinctive pavilion for Turkmenistan was set up at the festival, attracting visitors including diplomats, international students, and public organization representatives. Explore the nation’s identity, achievements, and cultural practices.

The festival's highlight was the cultural performances by Turkmen students, showcasing traditional dances that embodied the spirit and unity of Turkmen youth, drawing applause from international observers and highlighting the nation’s dynamic cultural legacy.

Additionally, the pavilion offered insights into Turkmen national cuisine, allowing visitors to experience the warmth of Turkmen hospitality and cultural traditions through food displays crafted by the students. This exhibition manifested the country’s “open doors” policy and a commitment to intercultural dialogue.

Prior to the festival, students participated in a symposium titled “High-Quality Development of Higher Energy Education within the Belt and Road Initiative” at the China University of Petroleum, where they shared their ideas and engaged in discussions on education and energy cooperation.

Officials remarked that the active participation of Turkmen youth in such international events signifies the nation’s increasing role in fostering humanitarian and educational relationships globally. The professionalism and enthusiasm displayed by these students reflected Turkmenistan’s commitment to promoting mutual understanding and friendship worldwide.

The success of the Turkmen pavilion at this prestigious international youth event significantly boosted the country’s global image, underscoring the importance of maintaining cultural heritage and motivating young individuals to pursue international cultural exchange and cooperation.
