International SDG Contest at Turkmen Agricultural University

International SDG Contest at Turkmen Agricultural University

Post by : Shakul

Turkmen Agricultural University, named after S.A. Niyazov, is set to host a worldwide scientific project competition entitled “The Role of Youth in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.” This initiative aligns with World Environment Day and coincides with the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence.

The event will encourage participation from students across Turkmenistan and beyond, providing a stage for young innovators to share their research on pivotal sustainability challenges.

The primary goal of this competition is to showcase how young researchers can contribute significantly to the Sustainable Development Goals. It invites students to propose creative solutions and scientific insights that target pressing global issues.

Entrants can submit projects addressing six essential areas: zero hunger, clean water and sanitation, affordable clean energy, climate action, life below water, and life on land—all vital components of sustainable development efforts.

The competition comprises two stages, accepting submissions in Turkmen, English, and Russian. Participants are to email their projects to the organizing committee by May 10.

All entries will undergo a thorough evaluation by a jury panel, with outstanding projects chosen for the final stage. Selected participants will be announced on the university’s website on May 20.

The final presentations will take place online from June 1 to June 5, where participants will showcase their projects to the central organizing committee and experts.

Judging will consider several criteria, including relevance, innovation, presentation clarity, feasibility, and overall quality, ensuring the recognition of impactful projects.

This competition strives to empower talented youth, enhance knowledge sharing, and promote awareness regarding environmental sustainability and resource management, while fostering international collaboration to tackle global challenges.
