This week, Turkmenistan is poised for a blend of soaring temperatures and occasional rainfall as meteorological conditions evolve throughout the country. The national Hydrometeorological Service has informed that several areas may reach up to 40 degrees Celsius, interspersed with brief rain showers.
In Ashgabat, the capital, the forecast suggests a week of partly cloudy skies. Temperatures are anticipated to progressively rise from around 28°C towards 40°C by the week's end, whereas nighttime lows will hover between 16°C and 24°C.
The Ahal velayat is set to experience predominantly clear skies with a significant uptick in temperature. Some districts could see highs near 41°C, signaling the advent of early summer heat across central Turkmenistan. Local residents are advised to exercise caution during peak hours due to the heat.
In the Balkan velayat, fluctuating weather is expected, shifting between cloudy and sunny spells. Inland temperatures may range between 35°C and 40°C, while coastal areas adjacent to the Caspian Sea could remain cooler, with highs from 26°C to 31°C thanks to maritime influences.
Meanwhile, the Mary velayat is anticipating predominantly dry and clear weather, with temperatures expected to surge from the upper twenties to close to 40°C in some regions. The Lebap velayat will likely experience similar heat profiles, characterized by cloudy conditions and rising temperatures leading into the week’s conclusion.
In the northern Dashoguz velayat, forecasters predict a mix of sunshine and clouds with temperatures gradually increasing, from about 24°C early in the week to nearly 39°C by the weekend. Nighttime temperatures are projected to be between 13°C and 24°C across various districts.
While rain is expected to be localized and transient, sudden weather shifts may occur in certain areas due to unstable atmospheric conditions. Residents are encouraged to stay hydrated, limit sun exposure during peak hours, and stay informed through official weather updates.
This forecast underlines the typical shift towards warmer summer weather across Central Asia while showcasing temporary atmospheric fluctuations that might lead to sporadic rainfall. Weather authorities are actively tracking regional conditions as temperatures continue to rise with summer approaching.
