Post by : Bianca Haleem

Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan met with Wamkele Mene in Abu Dhabi to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the UAE and African countries, with a focus on investment and infrastructure development.

During the meeting, both sides highlighted the strong and growing relationship between the UAE and Africa. They noted that the partnership has moved beyond traditional cooperation and is now based on mutual trust, respect, and a shared vision for long-term economic growth.

The discussions focused on increasing investment in key sectors, especially physical infrastructure and digital infrastructure. Both leaders emphasized that improving infrastructure is important to support trade and better connect markets across Africa.

They also underlined the need to expand digital transformation efforts, which can help boost economic development and create new business opportunities.

Another key point of discussion was strengthening partnerships between public and private sectors in the UAE and African nations. Both sides agreed that such collaboration can play a major role in driving sustainable growth.

In addition, the meeting covered regional developments and security concerns. The leaders discussed the impact of Iran’s actions on regional stability, including threats to maritime security, energy supplies, and the global economy.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening UAE–Africa relations and continuing efforts to support sustainable economic progress.
