Strengthening Defence Links: UAE and Italy Address Security Issues

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, engaged in discussions with Italy's Defence Minister, Guido Crosetto, aimed at reinforcing the defence collaboration between their nations.

Key topics included the enhancement of joint defence initiatives and the assessment of shared security concerns. They also reviewed the recent developments across the Middle East that affect both regional and international stability, paying particular attention to maritime security.

During the session, Crosetto condemned recent Iranian aggressions targeting the UAE and other regional nations, stressing that such acts infringe on national sovereignty, international law, and pose significant threats to peace and stability in the area.

He also relayed greetings from Italy’s Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, expressing her hopes for the UAE’s ongoing safety and prosperity.

This meeting underscores the deepening partnership between the UAE and Italy, as they confront regional challenges and work to enhance global security efforts.
