UAE Denounces Iran's Assault on Kuwait

Post by : Raina Al-Fahim

The United Arab Emirates vocally denounced the missile and drone strikes by Iran aimed at Kuwait, labeling them as a grave infringement of international law and Kuwait's sovereignty.

In a formal statement released by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, authorities characterized the attacks as a “blatant breach” of Kuwait’s territorial rights and a direct menace to its security as well as regional stability.

The UAE emphasized that such aggressive acts jeopardize ongoing peace initiatives in the region and exacerbate tensions, particularly when stability is essential for all Gulf nations. Additionally, they stated their strong repudiation of any acts that threaten the safety of nations or hinder regional harmony.

The statement conveyed the UAE's unwavering solidarity with Kuwait, its government, leadership, and citizens, and reaffirmed its support for any measures Kuwait decides to undertake to ensure its security, safeguard its airspace, and preserve stability.

This condemnation follows reports from Kuwait's armed forces indicating successful interception of multiple hostile missiles and drones attempting to breach its airspace, with the military confirming that the threats were neutralized without significant damage.

Kuwaiti authorities are on heightened alert as security agencies diligently monitor the situation and investigate the origin and intent behind the attacks.

The UAE reiterated that securing safety and stability in the Gulf is a collective responsibility and urged restraint to prevent further escalation.
