On behalf of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, attended the opening session of the AI Impact Summit.
The summit was chaired by His Excellency Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, and was attended by heads of state, government leaders, senior officials, decision-makers, investors, and representatives of major global technology companies.
During the opening session, leaders discussed ways to strengthen international cooperation to expand the adoption of artificial intelligence solutions in support of sustainable development. The session also focused on improving the global innovation ecosystem across key economic sectors.
Discussions highlighted future priorities for the AI sector, including the expansion of public-private partnerships to speed up AI-driven economic growth, support emerging economies, and improve the quality of life for communities around the world.
The Leaders Plenary session explored opportunities to deepen international partnerships in AI and promote more inclusive global collaboration. A key focus was strengthening cooperation between the Global North and Global South. The session also reviewed how advanced technology-driven innovation can be integrated across priority sectors, keeping in mind the changing dynamics of the global economy.
On the sidelines of the summit, the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) held a meeting with representatives from 58 member countries. The meeting reviewed progress in global AI cooperation initiatives, aligned shared priorities, and strengthened collaboration among stakeholders to support responsible AI research and policy development.
The meeting also endorsed the Leaders’ Statement, which outlines a shared roadmap to strengthen global AI governance principles and improve international cooperation. This roadmap aligns with the recommendations of the Paris AI Action Summit 2025 Joint Declaration, which sets guiding principles for AI governance and promotes equitable access to AI technologies and applications.
The UAE’s participation in the AI Impact Summit reflects its long-standing commitment to supporting international efforts that use advanced technologies to serve humanity, promote inclusive development, and address global sustainability challenges through responsible global AI governance frameworks.
The participation also highlights the UAE’s role in strengthening global cooperation to accelerate AI adoption across strategic sectors and support the development of future-focused economic models driven by knowledge, innovation, and advanced technology, contributing to global sustainable development goals.
