UAE Govt. Announces New School Uniforms for 2025-26

The Ministry of Education (MoE) in the United Arab Emirates has made an important announcement for students and parents across the country. They have shared that school uniforms for all public school students—from kindergarten all the way to grade 12—are now available for the new academic year 2025-2026.

This move is a part of their ongoing efforts to prepare for the next school year well in advance, giving families enough time to plan, shop, and get ready before schools reopen.

To make things even easier for parents, the ministry has created a detailed guide. This guide includes everything one needs to know about the school uniforms:

  • What the uniforms look like

  • Which designs are for which grades?

  • How much the uniforms cost

  • Where to buy the uniforms

This guide has been made available publicly and covers all the important points that parents may have questions about. The uniforms are available at 53 approved outlets across the UAE. Out of these, 48 are LuLu Hypermarket branches spread across all seven emirates, making it very convenient for families to find a location near them.

In addition to these LuLu outlets, some selected public schools in specific areas will also stock the uniforms. These include:

  • Schools in Al Sila’a, located in the Al Dhafra region

  • Schools in Al Wagan and Al Qua’a, both of which are in Al Ain

  • Schools on Dalma Island

These additional locations are aimed at making sure that even people living in more remote or less densely populated areas can access the uniforms without difficulty.

Why the New Uniform?

This new school uniform isn’t just a change in clothing—it represents something bigger. The Ministry of Education says that the updated uniform reflects the ministry’s new and modern vision for the education system in the UAE.

Earlier, in July 2024, the ministry introduced a new structure for the education sector. And in February 2025, a new visual identity for the public education sector was also launched. The updated uniform is part of this broader transformation in how public education looks and functions in the country.

The ministry explained that uniforms are not just about what students wear—they also play a role in shaping the overall image and spirit of the school environment. The new design aims to promote a unified and dignified appearance among students while encouraging a sense of pride, belonging, and discipline.

This change also shows how serious the UAE government is about aligning its education system with international standards. They want to make sure that students in the UAE have the same opportunities and experiences as students in top-performing countries around the world.

A Bigger Mission: Personal Development

The ministry also shared that this change is not just about how students look. It’s also part of a much larger mission: to focus more on students' overall personal development.

In recent years, the ministry has been working on making education in the UAE more holistic. That means they want schools to help students grow not just academically but also emotionally, socially, physically, and morally.

The new uniform reflects this goal by supporting an environment where students feel prepared, proud, and confident. It helps set the tone for schools to be spaces where learning, discipline, and personal values are all promoted together.

The ministry believes that how students dress plays a small but important role in building character, encouraging unity, and helping them feel like they are part of a larger community. When students wear the same uniform, it helps reduce differences and make everyone feel equal, regardless of their background or financial situation.

Supporting Families with Easy Access

Another big positive about this initiative is how it is designed with convenience in mind. By partnering with LuLu Hypermarkets and also involving selected schools in various regions, the ministry is trying to make sure that every family in every part of the country has easy access to school uniforms.

Parents won’t need to travel far or visit specific government offices. They can simply go to their nearby LuLu Hypermarket or the designated school in their area and get what their child needs.

Also, because the ministry has published a complete guide with all the information—such as pricing, styles, and locations—it makes the whole process less confusing and more transparent for parents.

Looking Ahead: A Better Education System

This announcement about school uniforms might seem small, but it’s actually part of a much bigger picture. Over the last few years, the UAE’s Ministry of Education has been working hard to modernize the education system and prepare students for the future.

By introducing reforms, changing how schools are structured, and launching new programs, the ministry is trying to create an education system that is smart, efficient, competitive, and globally connected.

And this updated uniform is just one more piece in that puzzle. It shows that the ministry is paying attention to even the small details that help create a better school environment for every child in the UAE.

They want to build a system where students feel good, look good, and do well, not just in their exams but in life too.
