The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has announced a temporary and partial closure of the United Arab Emirates’ airspace as a precautionary measure due to rapidly escalating security developments in the region.
The decision was taken after a comprehensive assessment of security and operational risks. The Authority confirmed that the move was made in full coordination with relevant national and international authorities. The primary objective is to ensure the safety of flights, protect aircrews, and safeguard the territory and air sovereignty of the United Arab Emirates.
According to the GCAA, aviation safety and the protection of UAE airspace remain absolute priorities. The Authority stressed that all necessary measures are being implemented to maintain the highest standards of flight safety during this period.
The GCAA also stated that it will continue to monitor the situation closely and keep the public and concerned authorities informed of any new developments.
Passengers are strongly advised to contact their respective airlines for the latest updates on flight schedules. Airlines, in coordination with local authorities, will provide necessary support, including accommodation and assistance, to passengers affected by the temporary disruption.
The Authority expressed appreciation for public cooperation and understanding during these exceptional circumstances. It also urged residents and travelers to rely only on official and accredited sources for accurate information.
