UAE Safeguards Against Missile and Drone Threats from Iran

Post by : Bianca Haleem

The UAE's Ministry of Defence has announced that its air defence systems effectively intercepted several missiles and drones launched from Iran, amid rising regional tensions. These successful interceptions prevented any direct impacts, safeguarding civilian lives and critical infrastructure.

Officials clarified that the loud noises reported across various cities, including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Al Ain, were attributed to air defence systems engaging the threats, rather than on-ground explosions. All detected threats were neutralized prior to causing any harm.

In a precautionary measure, residents were issued emergency SMS alerts advising them to find shelter in safe areas and to avoid windows, doors, and outdoor spaces. A subsequent nationwide alert reassured citizens that the situation was controlled and safe, allowing them to resume their daily routines.

The Ministry of Interior UAE, along with the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, urged the public to stay informed through official channels and to adhere to safety protocols. They reiterated that all defence systems are operational and that continuous monitoring is in place to secure national airspace and ensure public safety amidst ongoing regional developments.
