The United Arab Emirates successfully intercepted 12 ballistic missiles and 17 drones during an attack on Monday, the Ministry of Defence reported.
Officials confirmed that 15 missiles were detected, with 12 destroyed and 3 falling into the sea. Meanwhile, of 18 drones detected, 17 were intercepted while 1 landed within UAE territory.
Since the start of Iranian attacks, UAE air defences have detected 253 ballistic missiles, destroying 233, while 18 fell into the sea and 2 landed in the country. In addition, 1,440 drones were detected, with 1,359 intercepted and 81 entering UAE territory. Eight cruise missiles were also detected and destroyed.
These attacks have tragically resulted in four deaths among Pakistani, Nepalese, and Bangladeshi nationals. A further 117 people sustained minor injuries, including citizens from the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Turkey, Iraq, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, and Palestine.
The Ministry of Defence affirmed that the UAE remains on high alert, fully prepared to respond to threats, and is committed to protecting the country’s sovereignty, security, and national interests.
