Post by : Bianca Haleem

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of United Arab Emirates, met with Hakan Fidan, Foreign Minister of Türkiye, in Abu Dhabi.

During the meeting, both leaders exchanged greetings on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. They shared their wishes for continued prosperity, wellbeing, and peace for their nations and people, as well as for global stability.

Hakan Fidan conveyed greetings from Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to the UAE President, along with wishes for the country’s continued growth. Sheikh Mohamed asked him to pass on his greetings and best wishes for further progress and prosperity to Türkiye and its leadership.

The Turkish Foreign Minister also reaffirmed Türkiye’s condemnation of recent Iranian attacks targeting the UAE and other countries in the region. He stated that such actions violate national sovereignty and international law, and pose a serious threat to regional stability.

Both sides discussed the ongoing military escalation in the region and expressed concern over its impact on global and regional security. They stressed the importance of reducing tensions and highlighted the need to prioritise dialogue and diplomatic solutions to avoid further conflict.

The meeting was attended by several senior UAE officials, including Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, along with other key representatives.
