UAE Women’s Union Engages with CPC to Bolster International Partnerships

Post by : Bianca Haleem

A prominent delegation from the General Women’s Union (GWU) conducted a significant meeting with officials from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) during their official visit to the People's Republic of China, with the UAE Embassy in Beijing providing vital support.

This dialogue is part of the wider agenda of the UAE-China Businesswomen Council, aimed at fostering institutional collaboration and facilitating the exchange of knowledge to develop international partnerships focused on economic growth and sustainable innovation.

H.E. Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Secretary-General of the GWU, led the UAE delegation, while the Chinese representation included Yu Wei, Deputy Director-General of the CPC Central Committee's International Department and other senior officials.

During the talks, an in-depth review of the CPC Central Committee’s experience in managing international relations was conducted, highlighting the role of its International Department, responsible for coordinating actions with over 600 political parties and organizations worldwide - a model for global dialogue and cooperation.

The discussions delved into potential collaborative initiatives aimed at knowledge sharing and capacity building, with the goal of enhancing institutional effectiveness and fostering sustainable development within the context of evolving global partnerships.

This engagement is integral to the GWU's vision to activate the UAE-China Businesswomen Council, a primary outcome of the initiative for Emirati women entrepreneurs in friendly countries, launched under the esteemed guidance of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Nation,” who chairs the GWU and leads the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.

The initiative is focused on empowering Emirati women, strengthening their global impact, and enhancing their roles in international economic collaboration.

In her final comments, Noura Al Suwaidi affirmed that such initiatives are critical in bolstering institutional partnerships and empowering Emirati women to actively contribute to global developmental efforts.

The Chinese representatives acknowledged the UAE’s visionary leadership and commended the ongoing initiatives of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak in promoting women’s empowerment, portraying the UAE model as a pioneering example on both regional and global stages.
