UAE Youth Join World Bank Talent Development Program

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Under the patronage of Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE has announced that 15 Emirati nationals will join the National Talent Development with World Bank Group Explorers Program. The initiative aims to provide hands-on experience in international development and global financial systems.

The announcement was made during the Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund in Washington, D.C. The program is a joint effort between the UAE Ministry of Finance and the World Bank Group.

The initiative is supported by key national institutions, including the UAE Aid Agency, the Office of Development and Fallen Heroes’ Families Affairs, and ADGM Academy.

The UAE is among the first countries to take part in this global program, which focuses on developing national talent and strengthening their role in international development institutions.

As part of the program, selected Emirati youth will work on real-world development projects. They will gain practical experience in areas such as economics, finance, infrastructure, and global development, while learning how the World Bank operates.

Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini said the program reflects the UAE’s long-term vision to invest in human capital. He added that it will help prepare a new generation of professionals who can contribute to global economic and financial decision-making.

Dr. Tareq Ahmed Al Ameri highlighted that the initiative will provide training, skill development, and exposure to international best practices, helping Emirati youth build strong careers in development and economics.

Radi Anguelova said the partnership shows a shared commitment to developing future leaders who can address global challenges and create meaningful impact across sectors.

Hamad Sayah Al Mazrouei added that the program will empower Emirati talent with the skills and global perspective needed to succeed in complex international environments.

The program also supports Abu Dhabi’s broader economic goals by strengthening national expertise in development finance and enhancing cooperation between public and private sectors.

Overall, the initiative aims to build strong global capabilities among Emirati youth and position the UAE as an active contributor to international development and economic stability.
