UAE Delivers Over 100 Tonnes of Aid to Gaza via Humaid Air Bridge

Post by : Bianca Haleem

On Saturday morning, an aircraft loaded with more than 100 tonnes of essential aid and food departed from Sharjah International Airport, aimed at supporting those in the Gaza Strip.

This flight is part of the “Humaid Air Bridge” initiative, initiated by H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, and it is being executed in conjunction with Operation Chivalrous Knight 3.

The cargo consists of approximately 3,300 food parcels, meticulously prepared to satisfy the basic nutritional requirements of families in distress in Gaza. This initiative underscores the UAE's unwavering dedication to humanitarian efforts amidst the ongoing hardship.

In support of its relief mission, Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 is also operating a fully-equipped field hospital and the UAE Floating Hospital located in Al Arish, Egypt. These medical facilities have a total capacity of around 100 beds and feature specialized teams across various medical fields such as surgery, orthopaedics, pediatrics, obstetrics, gynecology, and intensive care.

Moreover, six desalination plants have been established to ensure a daily supply of clean drinking water for the residents of Gaza, addressing severe water shortages.

The UAE remains committed to providing essential humanitarian assistance and services to the Palestinian community during this challenging period.
