UAE's National Population Framework 2031 Under Review

Post by : Bianca Haleem

In a significant meeting held in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, led the Federal Demographic Structure Council's (FDSC) review of the National Population Framework 2031.

The council assessed recent developments and set priorities for upcoming phases aimed at creating a more balanced and adaptable demographic system for the UAE, in line with the national vision initiated by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for sustainable population growth and enduring national progress.

Emphasizing the promotion of population sustainability, Sheikh Saif noted that these initiatives resonate with the “We the UAE 2031” vision—a holistic national strategy introduced by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Key performance indicators across various sectors were reviewed during the session, with an emphasis on the importance of policies that are adaptive and flexible enough to respond to the swift demographic and economic transformations occurring in the country. The officials highlighted the significance of achieving long-term demographic stability while supporting the nation’s growth aspirations.

The council also discussed increasing the engagement of UAE citizens in vital economic sectors, improving workforce efficiency, and harnessing the country's diverse populace to facilitate future advancements.

Moreover, council members examined strategic partners' implementation plans, which include comprehensive projects aimed at promoting swift progress and effectively realizing the national objectives outlined within the framework.

Concluding the meeting, there was a collective recognition of the UAE's distinctive demographic landscape, celebrated for its values of coexistence, tolerance, and cultural diversity—principles that continue to define the country’s development under its leadership.
