Ukraine Drone Strikes Kill Five Across Russia, Hit Wildberries

Ukraine launched another wave of long-range drone attacks across Russia, killing at least five people and damaging industrial facilities and another warehouse belonging to Russia's largest online retailer, Wildberries, according to Russian officials.

The overnight attacks came as both Russia and Ukraine continued exchanging large-scale drone strikes, with each side reporting damage, casualties, and attacks on key infrastructure.

Ukrainian Drones Target Multiple Russian Regions

Russia's Defense Ministry said its air defense systems destroyed 635 Ukrainian drones overnight. The interceptions took place over several regions, including occupied Crimea and the Black and Azov Seas.

The ministry did not reveal how many drones Ukraine launched in total or how many successfully reached their targets.

Meanwhile, Ukraine's air force reported that Russia launched 133 drones during the night. According to the military, 24 drones hit their intended targets inside Ukraine.

Wildberries Warehouse Hit Again

One of the Ukrainian drone attacks targeted a Wildberries warehouse in Russia's Samara region, around 800 kilometers (500 miles) from the Russian-Ukrainian border.

Samara Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev said the strike caused a fire at the warehouse but there were no casualties.

Wildberries is Russia's biggest online marketplace and is often compared with Amazon. Ukrainian forces have now struck more than a dozen of the company's warehouse facilities in less than two weeks as part of Kyiv's wider aerial campaign aimed at disrupting Russia's economy and military support network.

The campaign against Wildberries began on July 18, when warehouses in Elektrostal, east of Moscow, and the Tambov region were targeted. Since then, additional facilities across western and southern Russia, as well as Russian-controlled Crimea, have also been hit.

According to available reports, these earlier attacks resulted in at least nine deaths and left dozens of people injured.

Drone Strike Kills Two in Saratov Region

In Russia's Saratov region, a Ukrainian drone struck a residential building, killing two people, Governor Roman Busargin said.

He added that civilian infrastructure in both Engels and the regional capital, Saratov, was damaged during the attacks.

Engels has repeatedly been targeted because it hosts a military airbase, while Saratov is home to a major oil refinery.

Bashkortostan and Udmurt Republic Also Affected

Authorities in Bashkortostan reported another large-scale drone attack targeting industrial facilities in the city of Ufa.

Regional Governor Radiy Khabirov said Russian air defenses responded to the attack and that firefighters were working to extinguish a blaze. He did not specify which industrial sites had been hit.

In the Udmurt Republic, acting regional head Olga Abramova said three civilians were killed and two others were injured in a Ukrainian drone strike.

Abramova also said Russian air defenses shot down two Ukrainian drones and prevented another attempted attack. A civilian vehicle was damaged, although officials did not confirm whether the damage was caused by drone debris.

Russian Attacks Continue Across Ukraine

Russian attacks also caused casualties in Ukraine.

In the southern city of Zaporizhzhia, a Russian guided bomb struck a residential building, killing one person, according to regional administration head Ivan Fedorov.

Another Russian attack on the outskirts of Kharkiv killed one person and set a postal terminal on fire, regional administration head Oleh Syniehubov said.

The continued exchange of drone and air attacks highlights the ongoing escalation of long-range strikes by both Russia and Ukraine, with military, industrial, and civilian locations remaining frequent targets.
