A night train en route from Moscow to Chelyabinsk has derailed in western Russia, injuring at least 55 individuals as several carriages flipped over.
The derailment took place near Bryandino village in Ulyanovsk Oblast, roughly 1,000 kilometers from Moscow. Officials reported that seven carriages veered off the tracks during the incident.
Governor Aleksey Yuryevich Russkikh clarified that there were no fatalities from the accident. At the time, the train was carrying about 415 passengers.
Emergency services acted quickly, with all injured parties being taken to local hospitals for treatment. The exact cause of the derailment remains unknown, and an investigation is currently in progress.
Railway authorities are prioritizing the restoration of regular services in the affected region, while taking necessary precautions to ensure the safety of infrastructure and travelers.
