Weekly Government Directives from Vietnam: Key Updates

Post by : Shakul

During the week of April 11 to 17, 2026, the Government of Vietnam and Prime Minister issued important guidelines and decisions focusing on transportation safety, economic growth, administrative reforms, and social welfare strategies. These steps exhibit the government's ongoing commitment to public safety and socio-economic progress throughout the nation.

A primary concern was the enhancement of transportation services and the assurance of traffic safety amid the Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day and the upcoming April 30 to May 1 holidays. Authorities were directed to augment transport availability for passengers and ensure seamless connections at vital transport hubs such as airports, railway stations, bus terminals, and seaports.

Stringent enforcement of traffic regulations was also underscored, with enhanced patrolling and oversight by law enforcement agencies. Measures aimed to curb illegal practices including reckless driving, unauthorized racing, and price gouging by transport service providers during peak travel times.

A significant directive revolved around the distribution of central budget funds for national initiatives, including new rural development, sustainable poverty alleviation, and socio-economic enhancement in ethnic minority and mountainous regions, focusing on ensuring balanced development in disadvantaged areas.

The Prime Minister urged for the swift allocation and disbursement of public investment capital in 2026, aiming to maximize the utilization of allocated funds. Ministries and local governments have been tasked with closely monitoring project advancements, tackling issues such as land clearance and resource availability, and ensuring prompt execution.

In addition, the government highlighted the critical nature of administrative reforms, focusing on restructuring government bodies and enhancing the quality of public service personnel. Efforts are underway to streamline procedures and improve efficiency across various ministries and local entities.

The week also included guidance concerning an amnesty implementation in 2026, detailing eligibility conditions and review timelines. Moreover, preparations are in full swing for the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs, reflecting national unity and appreciation.

Furthermore, the government endorsed the creation of a new branch of the Academy of Finance in Hung Yen province, aimed at enhancing education and training in finance management and administration. Collectively, these directives reaffirm Vietnam’s dedication to economic progress, governance reforms, and social enhancement.
