Thailand Directs Immediate Renovations for Kalasin School

Post by : Shakul

In Kalasin Province, Thailand's Ministry of Education has initiated immediate renovations at Pinij Ratsabamrung School following alarming safety and hygiene findings during a recent inspection.

Education Minister Prasert Chantarawongthong, accompanied by high-ranking ministry officials, inspected the school as part of a broader assessment of educational facilities nationwide before the new academic year. This visit aimed to evaluate readiness and adherence to educational policies.

Inspection reports pointed out various structural damages and unsafe electrical wiring, posing potential hazards to both students and faculty. The situation has been classified as critical, necessitating swift intervention.

The minister has mandated the Office of the Basic Education Commission to urgently rectify safety concerns, particularly those related to outdated infrastructure and electrical systems throughout the school campus.

In addition, officials highlighted issues regarding the school cafeteria, indicating that its current facilities are inadequately sized and fail to meet hygiene regulations, leading students to dine in shifts due to limited space.

To address these inadequacies, the Education Ministry has authorized plans for a new cafeteria that complies with modern health, sanitation, and safety standards. Authorities assert that this will foster a healthier environment for learning.

As a key primary educational facility in the district, Pinij Ratsabamrung School has over 700 students and 45 staff members. Enhancing the school’s infrastructure is a crucial component of Thailand's ongoing educational reform initiatives.

The ministry reiterates the importance of advancing school safety, hygiene, and educational quality in unison, ensuring that students throughout Thailand have access to secure and nurturing academic settings.
