Vietnam-China Border Festival 2026 Kicks Off

Post by : Shakul

Paving the way for tighter Vietnam-China relations, To Lam graced the opening of the Vietnam-China Border People's Festival 2026 in Nanning, Guangxi. As part of an official state visit to China, this gathering witnessed participation from leaders, officials, youth, and locals, celebrating enduring friendship and collaborative spirit.

This festival, co-hosted by friendship associations from both nations and backed by the Guangxi government, functions as a conduit for fostering connections among citizens. It embodies a vision aimed at cementing a robust social foundation for enduring cooperation and collaborative growth between Vietnam and China in the 21st century.

During the event, Chinese leader Tran Cuong underscored the longstanding camaraderie between the two nations, stressing historical harmony and mutual support among border communities. He pointed out Guangxi's vital role in safeguarding and enhancing this bond through localized cooperation.

In his speech, President To Lam highlighted Guangxi's importance as a site of shared revolutionary heritage. He referenced sites associated with Ho Chi Minh, which are emblematic of the mutual sacrifices and solidarity that underscore Vietnam-China relations.

The Vietnamese leader expressed gratitude to China for its diligent preservation of Vietnam's revolutionary historical sites. He noted that over the years, particularly post the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1950, the two countries have cultivated a comprehensive strategic partnership grounded in friendship and future-oriented cooperation.

Focusing on future partnerships, To Lam emphasized the significance of youth and border communities in reinforcing bilateral ties. He advocated for increased cultural and educational exchanges, as well as innovation-driven progress through technology and digital transformation, urging a shift towards new collaboration frontiers, including smart infrastructure and cultural industries.

The event concluded with a resounding message of unity, with both nations declaring their commitment to nurturing a “community with a shared future.” Leaders expressed optimism that ongoing collaboration, rooted in historical bonds and invigorated by modern initiatives, will foster peace, stability, and sustainable growth in the region.
