Vietnam Government's Drive for Digital Reform and Growth

Post by : Shakul

The Vietnamese government has delineated crucial directives and policy initiatives for the week of April 18 to 24, 2026, targeting economic expansion, digital transformation, and social welfare. These updates underscore the administration's dedication to fostering national development and enhancing governance efficiency.

In a concerted effort, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung has initiated a nationwide campaign aimed at fulfilling socio-economic goals for both the current year and the upcoming 2026–2030 five-year plan. This initiative motivates ministries and local authorities to improve efficiency, spur innovation, and bolster competitiveness across all sectors.

A primary emphasis this week was on optimizing the management and utilization of public investment capital. The government highlighted the importance of correlating investment decisions with socio-economic efficiency and accountability throughout the entire project lifecycle, from planning through execution and operation. Strict measures have been instated to mitigate corruption and guarantee transparency.

Additionally, the administration is advancing digital transformation efforts by enhancing digital skills training for officials, civil servants, and public employees. The ambition is to equip all government personnel with essential digital knowledge by the close of 2026, enabling effective use of digital platforms in professional settings.

Furthermore, administrative reforms are being strengthened through the execution of a cohesive national public service system. Authorities aim to ensure streamlined and efficient online service delivery, enhancing accessibility and minimizing bureaucratic delays for both citizens and businesses.

Initiatives are also underway to bolster human resource development at the local level, focusing on training commune-level officials to align with modern governance needs. The government is committed to establishing a more proficient and capable administrative structure across all regions.

Other significant initiatives include launching an amnesty program, promoting biotechnology as a key economic sector, and creating a national environmental radiation monitoring network. These measures illustrate the government's comprehensive approach to harmonizing economic growth with social stability and environmental stewardship.
