Post by : Shakul

Vietnam is determined to enhance its economic trajectory as Prime Minister Le Minh Hung convened a high-level meeting with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to assess current progress and establish key focus areas for 2026. This gathering took place at the government headquarters in Hanoi.

The Prime Minister underscored that the industry and trade sectors are crucial for meeting the nation’s economic goals, particularly the ambitious target of double-digit growth. He indicated that the efficacy of this sector is vital for the overall economic trajectory of the country.

During discussions, officials noted advancements made in bolstering institutional frameworks, enhancing state management, and making strides in pivotal areas such as industrial output, energy sector development, and both domestic and international trade. These domains are recognized as key contributors to economic growth.

The Prime Minister acknowledged the various challenges confronting these sectors, including global economic volatility, trade barriers, geopolitical tensions, and domestic production restrictions. He highlighted the necessity for immediate actions to navigate these difficulties and uphold steady growth.

He directed the ministry to prioritize energy security and guarantee no shortages of electricity and fuel occur. Accelerating essential power projects, updating national energy strategies, and enhancing inter-agency collaboration were singled out as essential objectives.

The government also aims to fortify industrial supply chains, bolster domestic production capabilities, and foster deeper engagement with global markets. Efforts will focus on expanding export potential, refining trade efficiency, and optimizing gains from existing and forthcoming trade agreements.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister stressed the need for administrative enhancements, digital advancements, and modernization of the domestic distribution framework to elevate consumption and governance. He highlighted the significance of developing a skilled workforce and ensuring accountability within the ministry.

The meeting concluded with a resolute call for the industry and trade sector to spearhead economic advancement, tackle existing challenges, and ensure sustainable, high-quality growth in the years ahead.
