Enhanced Training Collaboration Between Vietnam and Japan

Post by : Shakul

Vietnam and Japan are reinforcing their collaboration in human resource development, with an emphasis on elevating the competencies of grassroots officials and improving governance standards. This initiative underscores a broader dedication to sustainable institutional development and global cooperation in public administration.

In a pivotal meeting at the Government Headquarters in Hanoi, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra engaged with Honna Hitoshi, the Chairman and CEO of Erex Group. Their discussions aimed to evaluate existing cooperation and identify methods to further enhance training initiatives across both nations.

The Vietnamese leader acknowledged the joint training program facilitated by the Ministry of Interior alongside Erex Group that commenced in 2022. This endeavor has been instrumental in boosting public management abilities, especially among young civil servants, grassroots officials, and women leaders, aiding their adaptation to contemporary governance needs.

To date, nearly 300 Vietnamese officials have participated in training sessions in Japan, gaining invaluable international insights and practical expertise. The program's impact has been profound, with many attendees successfully implementing their newly acquired skills locally. Notably, approximately 60 percent of youth who completed the training have ascended to higher positions, showcasing the initiative's effectiveness and relevance.

Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra stated that cultivating a proficient workforce remains a primary objective for the Vietnamese government. She underscored that international collaboration efforts like this not only enhance administrative capabilities but also play a crucial role in establishing a modern governance framework that addresses the challenges of a rapidly changing global landscape.

Honna Hitoshi, in response, recognized Vietnam’s recent advancements in strengthening its governance and leadership framework for the period 2026–2031. He reaffirmed Erex Group's dedication to maintaining and expanding its partnership with Vietnam, particularly within human resource development—a core element for sustainable growth.

The meeting concluded with mutual optimism regarding the prospects for Vietnam-Japan cooperation. Both parties shared a consensus that ongoing collaboration in training and capacity enhancement will be pivotal in supporting Vietnam’s socio-economic development and solidifying bilateral relations between the two countries.
