A ceremonial handover of presidential duties was held at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi, symbolizing a significant transition from Luong Cuong to To Lam.

Key political figures attended, including members from the Politburo and Central Committee, signaling the weight of this leadership change within Vietnam's governance.

The event featured a review of the accomplishments achieved during Luong Cuong’s time in office. Both leaders formally signed documents to complete the transition of responsibilities.

Former President Luong Cuong expressed his appreciation for the support he received, reflecting on his long service and commitment to his duties. He thanked the Party, State, and citizens for their unwavering backing.

To Lam, taking on his new role, noted the honor of being elected President and pledged his allegiance to the Constitution and to the people. He vowed to uphold the legacy of past leaders.

He acknowledged the significant contributions made by Luong Cuong, particularly in governance and legal oversight, as well as addressing both domestic and foreign challenges.

Looking forward, To Lam highlighted his focus on political stability, economic growth, enhanced national defense, and improving the quality of life for citizens as Vietnam embarks on a new developmental path.

He also called for unity among institutions and society, stressing that the nation’s strength lies in the creativity and resilience of its people, pledging to work towards collective national advancement.
