Vietnam and South Korea are reinforcing their strategic partnership with a shared focus on technology, investment, and innovation. This high-level engagement underscores the significance of collaboration in emerging industries.

On April 22, 2026, in Hanoi, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung welcomed Bae Kyung Hoon during President Lee Jae Myung's state visit to Vietnam, joined by senior officials from both nations.

Deputy Prime Minister Dung emphasized the importance of fostering these ties, highlighting that cooperation in technology and science is essential for their bilateral relationship, which has shown promising initial results.

Vietnam is committed to enhancing relations with South Korea rooted in trust and mutual development. The leadership anticipates that this visit will generate new momentum for productive and meaningful collaboration.

Vietnam has urged South Korean companies to increase investments in key areas like high-tech manufacturing, biotechnology, infrastructure, semiconductors, and smart city projects. The government is working toward transforming policy agreements into actionable, beneficial projects.

Deputy Prime Minister Bae Kyung Hoon highlighted that many leading Korean firms recognize the vast potential within Vietnam’s robust economy and its skilled workforce. He emphasized ongoing partnerships in agriculture, education, and various development initiatives.

Moreover, both parties stressed the significance of the Vietnam-Korea Institute of Science and Technology as a hallmark of successful collaboration. Future endeavors are expected to delve into advanced fields like AI and semiconductors, aiming to achieve practical, long-term outcomes.
