Vietnam secured their spot in the AFC U23 Asian Cup semi-finals after an exhilarating 3-2 win against the United Arab Emirates, achieved during extra time on Friday. The quarter-final clash unfolded at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.

The match was tightly contested, with both sides managing to score two goals each, leading to a 2-2 tie at the end of regular time. Unable to determine a winner, the contest proceeded to extra time.

Displaying remarkable determination and control during the additional period, Vietnam netted the decisive goal, cementing their advancement in the tournament. This critical extra-time effort marked Vietnam’s entry into the semi-finals.

This victory showcases Vietnam’s resilience as they build on their impressive journey in the AFC U23 Asian Cup, while the UAE's run concludes following a valiant effort.
