Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli made headlines once more by scoring a remarkable century in the third ODI against New Zealand at Indore on Sunday.
Kohli showcased impressive form, reaching his hundred in just 91 balls, accompanied by 8 fours and 2 sixes. This achievement marked his seventh ODI century against New Zealand, surpassing all other players in this format against the Kiwis.
With this accomplishment, Kohli has moved past legends like Ricky Ponting and Virender Sehwag, both of whom had clocked six ODI centuries against New Zealand. Sachin Tendulkar and Sanath Jayasuriya follow with five centuries each.

Despite Kohli's standout performance, India faced a 41-run defeat, allowing New Zealand to win the three-match ODI series 2-1.
Chasing a daunting target of 338 runs, India stumbled early on, finding themselves at 71 for four. Kohli made a valiant effort, scoring 124 off 108 balls, marking his 54th ODI century. He was supported by Nitish Kumar Reddy (53) and Harshit Rana (52), but ultimately, the team was bowled out for 296 in 46 overs.
For New Zealand, Zak Foulkes (3/77) and Kristian Clarke (3/54) captured six wickets collectively, while spinner Jayden Lennox impressed with figures of 2/42.
Earlier, New Zealand set a formidable total of 337 for eight in their 50 overs, bolstered by centuries from Daryl Mitchell (137) and Glenn Phillips (106).
Kohli's performance also brought his total number of hundreds against New Zealand across all formats to 10, making him the highest in this regard.
