The National Library and Archives is enhancing access to the UAE's historical treasures by providing an online experience of the Sheikh Suroor bin Mohamed Al Nahyan Hall. This innovative platform allows individuals globally to delve into the life and legacy of a highly esteemed figure in the UAE.

Dedicated to His Highness Sheikh Suroor bin Mohamed Al Nahyan, the hall functions as an extensive documentary resource. It boasts a notable collection of historical documents, images, and archived materials that accentuate his pivotal role in the UAE's evolution and his close ties with the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The hall’s rising fame signifies a strong public engagement with UAE's past and the significant accomplishments of its leaders. During 2025, over 9,000 visitors engaged with the hall, indicating a growing interest in the country's narrative and the figures who shaped its development.

Guests embarking on this enlightening journey can immerse themselves in the life and contributions of Sheikh Suroor bin Mohamed Al Nahyan, highlighted through exhibits detailing his national roles from 1966 to 2003. Accompanying large-screen documentaries provide insights into his perspectives on the UAE’s founding, the strength of its union, and various key milestones achieved under national leadership.

Among the hall’s major attractions is a collection of personal artifacts and historical memorabilia. More than 10 medals, commemorative shields, honorary gifts, and various significant items offer insights into important events from his life and public duties. Rare photographs from his private collection further illuminate both his personal and national journeys.

Additionally, the exhibition includes exclusive video segments, featuring a personal interview where Sheikh Suroor bin Mohamed Al Nahyan shares his thoughts on the UAE's unity, the solid foundations of its union, and the vital influence of the late Sheikh Zayed in nation-building.

The Sheikh Suroor bin Mohamed Al Nahyan Hall aligns with the National Library and Archives’ commitment to safeguarding the UAE’s historical narrative, making it accessible to future generations. Both physical and virtual access enhances national identity, promotes cultural appreciation, and fosters a deeper understanding of the UAE's rich historical context.
