Xi Jinping Extends Warm Wishes to India on Republic Day

Post by : Meena Hassan

Chinese President Xi Jinping sent heartfelt Republic Day greetings on Monday to President Droupadi Murmu and the people of India, characterizing the relationship between the two nations as rooted in friendship, partnership, and mutual respect.

In his message, Xi highlighted that as prominent neighbouring nations, China and India bear a collective duty to foster constructive relations. He acknowledged that the past year has seen significant advancements in ties between New Delhi and Beijing, attributed to dialogue and cooperation across various dimensions.

Xi emphasized that a positive India-China relationship is crucial not just for the two countries, but also vital for regional harmony and global prosperity. He asserted that enhanced collaboration could play a pivotal role in fostering peace, economic progress, and sustainable development on a global scale.

The Chinese leader further pointed out the necessity of building mutual trust, respecting each other’s agendas, and advocating for peaceful coexistence. He expressed optimism for continued communication, responsible handling of differences, and the expansion of cooperative ventures.

India commemorated its Republic Day with nationwide celebrations, reflecting its democratic ideals, cultural richness, and increasing influence on the global stage. Xi’s message emerges during a period when both nations aim to stabilize their relationship and seek avenues for enduring collaboration.

Analysts interpret the message positively, seeing it as a sign of intent from both nations to sustain dialogue and establish a more stable, predictable partnership in the years ahead.
