Scheduled for May 3 at Meskel Square, the Zayed Charity Run 2026 is set to take place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, starting promptly at 7:00 AM. This event showcases the UAE’s unwavering dedication to humanitarian ideals while conveying a universal message of unity and generosity.
As an invitation-only gathering, this charity run aims to unite participants for sporting excellence and humanitarian efforts. All funds raised during the event will be directed to the Children’s Heart Fund Ethiopia through the Emirates Red Crescent, enhancing healthcare services for vulnerable children.
A UAE delegation consisting of 50 runners will join this impactful initiative, part of a broader global movement that has previously engaged thousands of participants worldwide. The run is a celebration of cultural diversity and a step towards fostering unity among diverse communities.
To stimulate competition, AED 150,000 in prize money has been announced for participants, though the primary objective remains the event's humanitarian focus.
During a press conference on May 1, key figures including Lt. General (Ret.) Mohammed Hilal Al Kaabi and Ahmed Sari Al Mazrouei emphasized the significance of this initiative and its far-reaching global influence.
Established to honor the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Zayed Charity Run has successfully united over 700,000 participants and has raised upwards of $173 million for various humanitarian and healthcare initiatives globally.
The event transcends being merely a race. It embodies the principles of generosity, inclusiveness, and community spirit, forging stronger bonds between nations. This initiative serves as a bridge connecting sports with impactful humanitarian efforts, ensuring a lasting, positive legacy within communities.
