Zayed National Museum Unveils 4 Interactive Books for Kids

Post by : Bianca Haleem

The Zayed National Museum, the esteemed repository of the United Arab Emirates' history, has launched four interactive children's books available in English and Arabic, designed to foster knowledge about the nation’s heritage and ecology.

These charming books draw inspiration from the UAE's vibrant traditions and diverse natural landscape. They feature exciting interactive elements such as pop-up illustrations, touch-and-feel components, and activities that engage young readers in a fun learning environment while nurturing an understanding of the UAE’s unique identity.

One of the featured titles, Qudwati – Under the Desert Sky, showcases the desert's profound influence on the values of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Through captivating storytelling and illustrations, children explore themes of resilience, curiosity, and harmony with nature. The Arabic edition was developed in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre.

Another title, Kitabu – Step Inside, Listen Closely, invites kids on a pop-up adventure through the museum’s architectural marvels and exhibitions, encouraging imaginative exploration while introducing them to the rich tapestry of UAE history and culture.

What’s This? – Animals of the United Arab Emirates is specifically tailored for young learners. This interactive touch-and-feel book exposes children to the region's native wildlife, sparking their curiosity about animals.

The fourth book, Our Life by the Sea, an interactive coloring book created in partnership with Éditions Animées, underscores the sea's significance in Emirati life. Kids can engage creatively by coloring and using the BlinkBook app to animate their illustrations.

These titles form part of the museum’s broader publishing initiative, which includes previous works such as Magan Rediscovered: The Building of a Bronze Age Boat That Sailed the Arabian Gulf and highlights from Zayed National Museum’s collection. This effort underscores the museum's commitment to education, research, and fostering cultural appreciation.

The newly launched books are available for purchase at Al Nagwa Boutique located within the Zayed National Museum.
