Under the patronage of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, the 13th Mansour Bin Zayed Football Cup will be held today at the football pitch of Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental Abu Dhabi.
The tournament is organised by the Sports Committee of the Presidential Court in cooperation with the UAE Football Association and the UAE Pro League. The event aims to promote sports participation, encourage active lifestyles, and improve the overall quality of life within the community.
This year’s competition features 16 teams divided into four groups. During the group stage, teams will compete in a single round-robin format. The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals. From there, the tournament will follow a knockout format, leading to the final match. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams.
Taking place during the holy month of Ramadan, the tournament highlights the importance of sports in maintaining physical health and wellbeing. It encourages community members to stay active and adopt healthier habits throughout the month.
In line with the objectives of the UAE Year of Family, the event also includes several community-focused activities. These include a fan zone, the first-ever PlayStation Cup for juniors, and a dedicated food and beverage corner. Together, these activities create a complete and family-friendly sports and entertainment experience in Abu Dhabi.
