President To Lam has commenced his official visit to China, signifying a pivotal moment in bolstering diplomatic relations between the two nations. The trip is scheduled from April 14 to April 17, 2026.

Arriving in Beijing on the morning of April 14 alongside his wife and a prominent Vietnamese delegation, To Lam received a warm and formal reception at Beijing International Airport from senior Chinese officials.

Among those welcoming them were key leaders from China, officials of the Communist Party, diplomats, and members of the Vietnamese embassy. The Vietnamese community and students in China also gathered to greet the delegation.

This visit signifies a crucial time for both nations, with Vietnam transitioning into a new development phase after its 14th National Congress and China advancing with its 15th Five-Year Plan. This synergy is poised to unveil new avenues for cooperation.

During the discussions, leaders are anticipated to focus on enhancing collaboration across vital sectors such as trade, investment, tourism, education, and technology. Strengthening supply chains and production partnerships will also be a central theme.

Officials have labeled the visit a vital chance to elevate strategic relations and cultivate a new level of partnership between the two countries. It is set to foster deeper economic and political cooperation.

Meetings between top leaders, including Xi Jinping, are expected to outline the future trajectory of bilateral relations and support the long-term development goals of both nations.
