Abha International Airport Sets New Daily Flight Record

Abha International Airport Sets New Daily Flight Record

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Abha International Airport, operated by Cluster2 Airports, achieved its highest-ever daily flight operations after handling more than 130 flights on July 5. The milestone marks the busiest single day in the airport's operational history.

According to Cluster2 Airports, the total included 117 domestic flights and 15 international flights, bringing the day's overall flight count to 132. This is the highest number of flights the airport has managed in one day.

Growing Travel Demand Drives Traffic

Cluster2 Airports said the increase in flight operations reflects the rising demand for air travel, especially during the busy summer season. The airport's operational system successfully managed the higher traffic levels while maintaining efficient flight handling.

The cluster also highlighted that the Asir region's expanding calendar of events, along with its natural landscapes and cultural attractions, continues to attract more visitors during the summer months, contributing to the increase in passenger traffic.

Supporting Saudi Arabia's Aviation Goals

Cluster2 Airports stated that the record flight activity supports the objectives of the Aviation Program under Saudi Arabia's National Transport and Logistics Strategy. The program aims to increase airport operational capacity and improve the quality of services while meeting the highest operational standards.
