Saudi Arabia presented its progress in building a comprehensive national artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem during the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum. The Kingdom highlighted its approach to combining responsible AI governance with the practical use of AI technologies across several key sectors.
The presentation was led by the Kingdom through the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST). The panel discussion also included participation from the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), the International Center for AI Research and Ethics (ICAIRE), and Prince Sultan University.
During the session, Saudi Arabia explained how its national organizations are supporting the country's AI ecosystem. Their work includes strengthening AI governance and ethical frameworks, developing advanced computing infrastructure, encouraging research and innovation, and building national expertise in artificial intelligence.
The Kingdom said these combined efforts are helping position Saudi Arabia as a global example of responsible and accessible AI development.
The Saudi delegation also shared how artificial intelligence is being used in important sectors such as government services, healthcare, and media.
Officials emphasized the importance of creating an integrated AI ecosystem that supports technological progress while maintaining trust, transparency, and inclusivity. They also noted that AI development should reflect local values and cultural priorities.

The panel discussion formed part of Saudi Arabia's broader efforts to strengthen international cooperation, encourage knowledge sharing, and exchange best practices for a sustainable and trusted digital future.
Participants discussed the lessons learned from Saudi Arabia's experience in expanding AI responsibly. They also explored opportunities to increase international collaboration in AI governance, investment, and infrastructure innovation, allowing countries and institutions to benefit from successful national AI development models.
