Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority is set to participate in the 32nd Beijing International Book Fair as part of the UAE’s national pavilion, “Al Bait Al Emarati,” from June 17 to June 21. The UAE will take part in the prestigious event as the Guest of Honour, highlighting the country's growing cultural presence on the international stage.
The participation reflects the Authority’s commitment to promoting Emirati heritage globally and strengthening cultural dialogue between nations. Through a range of activities and exhibitions, the Authority aims to present the richness of the UAE’s cultural identity and its efforts to preserve traditional heritage.
Visitors to the pavilion will experience live demonstrations of traditional Emirati crafts, showcasing skills that have been passed down through generations. The programme will also feature displays of traditional Emirati clothing and women's adornments, offering insights into the country's cultural traditions.
Heritage performances will form a key part of the activities, with traditional arts such as Al Shella and Al Taghrooda being presented to audiences. These performances represent important elements of the UAE’s intangible cultural heritage and highlight the country's artistic legacy.
The Authority will also engage with Chinese cultural and heritage institutions during the event. Meetings and discussions are planned to explore opportunities for cooperation, exchange expertise and develop future partnerships in heritage preservation and cultural promotion.
In addition to the exhibition programme, the delegation will conduct field visits to cultural and heritage sites across China. These visits are intended to study successful heritage management practices and identify potential areas of collaboration between the two countries.
A special panel discussion titled "The Role of Cultural Institutions in Safeguarding and Promoting Heritage: A Comparative Perspective of the Chinese and Emirati Experiences" will be held during the fair. The session will explore how cultural institutions in both countries contribute to protecting, supporting and enriching heritage for future generations.
