Abu Dhabi Police Seize 377 Kg Crystal Meth In Oil Cans

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

Abu Dhabi Police have successfully stopped a very large drug smuggling attempt. The police, working together with the National Drug Control Service, arrested three Asian men who were trying to bring illegal drugs into the country. These drugs were crystal meth, a dangerous type of drug. The total amount seized was 377 kilograms, which is extremely large and harmful if it had reached the community.

Innovative Smuggling Plan Discovered

The gang used a tricky method to try and hide the drugs. Instead of transporting them openly, they put the drugs inside oil cans that are normally used for sewing machines. This plan was designed to make the drugs look like harmless items so they could pass through unnoticed. However, the plan failed because the anti-narcotics team of Abu Dhabi Police discovered the hidden drugs during their careful investigation.

Importance of Police Expertise

Brigadier Taher Gharib Al Dhaheri, who is the Director of the Anti-Narcotics Directorate at the Criminal Security Sector of Abu Dhabi Police, explained that the suspects thought their smuggling method was clever. They tried to trick the officers with their “innovative” plan. But the officers were highly trained, experienced, and very attentive. Their expertise and vigilance helped them find the drugs and catch the criminals before any harm was done.

Support From Leadership in Drug Control

Brigadier Al Dhaheri also said that this success was possible because of the constant support provided by the leadership of Abu Dhabi. The leaders of the emirate have made sure that the police force has modern tools, proper training, and all the necessary resources to fight against dangerous narcotics. This shows how serious the authorities are about protecting the country and its people from drug crimes.

Part of National Anti-Narcotics Strategy

The arrest of the gang and seizure of drugs is not just a single achievement but part of a bigger national plan. The National Anti-Narcotics Authority has created a national strategy to fight drugs at all levels. This strategy focuses on preventing the entry of drugs into the country, stopping local use, and making sure society remains safe. The Abu Dhabi Police operation reflects this commitment and shows that the strategy is working effectively.

Serious Dangers of Drug Abuse

In his statement, Brigadier Al Dhaheri also sent a strong warning to the public. He explained that many drug dealers try to convince people that using drugs will bring happiness or relaxation. These are false and dangerous claims. In reality, drug use destroys health, damages the brain, and can even cause death. Drugs also harm families and weaken society. Instead of giving joy, they bring only destruction and pain.

Police Call for Community Cooperation

Brigadier Al Dhaheri encouraged all members of the community to take responsibility and help in the fight against drugs. He said people should not ignore signs of drug activity or hesitate to report it. If anyone has any information about drug use or drug trafficking, they should immediately share it with the police. This can be done easily through the “Aman” service hotline 8002626. Quick reporting can save lives and stop more crimes before they happen.

The Impact of 377 Kilograms of Drugs

The size of this drug seizure shows how serious the crime was. Crystal meth is a very powerful and addictive drug. Even small amounts can destroy lives. If 377 kilograms of it had entered the community, it would have led to many cases of addiction, broken families, crime, and health problems. By stopping this smuggling attempt, Abu Dhabi Police have protected thousands of people from potential harm.

The Role of International Cooperation

This case also highlights how drug trafficking is not only a local issue but also an international one. The arrested men were Asian nationals, which means the drugs were being moved across countries. This is why international cooperation between countries is very important to stop such crimes. Abu Dhabi Police and the National Drug Control Service continue to work with other agencies around the world to ensure these smuggling networks are broken.

Educating the Public Against Drugs

Apart from catching criminals, the police also want to spread awareness. Brigadier Al Dhaheri reminded everyone that education is one of the best tools against drug use. When young people and families understand the risks, they are less likely to be influenced by false promises from drug dealers. Schools, workplaces, and community centers all have an important role in teaching about the dangers of drugs and supporting those who may be at risk.

A Message of Safety for the Future

The successful operation by Abu Dhabi Police is more than just the arrest of three people. It is a strong message to the public that the emirate is serious about safety and security. It also sends a message to criminals that no matter how clever their methods are, the police are always alert and prepared. The people of Abu Dhabi can feel safer knowing that their police force is working day and night to protect them from drug-related dangers.

Continuous Efforts Needed

While this operation is a big success, the fight against drugs never ends. Criminals will continue to try new ways to smuggle and sell drugs. This is why the efforts of police, government, and the community must continue without stopping. Every victory, like this one, makes society stronger, but constant vigilance and cooperation are needed to ensure drugs do not threaten the peace and safety of the emirate.
