Post by : Bianca Haleem

The EMS Conference 2025 recently took place in Abu Dhabi, drawing premier emergency medical professionals, specialists, and innovators from around the world. This three-day gathering provided a vibrant forum to introduce modern technologies, share best practices, and highlight advancements in ambulance services.

During the closing ceremony, Brigadier Salem Abdullah bin Barak Al Dhaheri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, acknowledged the exemplary dedication and skill of paramedics and teams. Awards were given to those who excelled in life-saving CPR, held the highest response rates in 2025, and distinguished themselves in various emergencies and special missions.

The conference also lauded international partnerships and scientific knowledge sharing. Speakers, the Scientific Committee, trainers, and organizers of the Ambulance Challenge were recognized for their pivotal roles in advancing innovation and excellence.

A standout moment was the inaugural Ambulance Challenge in the MENA region, where twelve international teams showcased their expertise in emergency response. The UAE National Ambulance team emerged victorious, followed by competitors from Australia and Qatar, marking a significant achievement in regional EMS training and collaboration.

Col Dr Maitha Mohammed Al Darei, Director of the Ambulance Department and Chair of the Scientific Committee, emphasized the conference's importance in promoting the exchange of international knowledge, adopting AI and modern technologies, and harmonizing protocols to boost the quality of emergency care. The importance of frontline worker well-being and the integration of response entities were also underscored, highlighting the nurturing of national talents to elevate Abu Dhabi's status as a global center for ambulance and emergency services.

The conference wrapped up with a reaffirmation of commitment to innovation, global collaboration, and life-saving excellence, reinforcing Abu Dhabi's vision of smarter, quicker, and more effective emergency medical services.
