Adobe unveils AI upgrades across Creative Cloud at MAX 2025

Post by : Bianca Haleem

At Adobe MAX 2025, Adobe announced a broad set of AI enhancements for Creative Cloud aimed at accelerating editorial and design workflows while improving output quality. The updates target photo editing, video production and general content creation with faster, more precise tools.

The conference spotlighted an AI Assistant now integrated into Photoshop on the web, Adobe Express and Firefly. The conversational assistant accepts creative commands, offers tailored suggestions and provides step-by-step help and learning resources within the apps.

Generative Fill was another major reveal, using partner models such as Google Gemini 2.5 Flash Image, Black Forest Labs’ FLUX.1 Kontext and Firefly Image Models. Creators can apply text prompts to modify or extend images while maintaining consistent detail and realism.

In collaboration with Topaz Labs, Adobe introduced Generative Upscale, which boosts image resolution up to 4K without sacrificing clarity — suited for professional photography and design work.

New tools also include Harmonize in Photoshop for integrating people or objects into different scenes naturally, and AI Object Mask in Premiere, which auto-detects and isolates subjects to speed up video edits.

Lightroom now offers an Assisted Culling public beta to help photographers sort large shoots by focus, sharpness and composition, reducing the time needed to review bulk images.

Adobe additionally launched Firefly Image Model 5 in public beta, enabling users to request edits in plain language or carry out complex transformations while keeping visual coherence across images.

Most capabilities — including Generative Fill, Generative Upscale and Harmonize — are rolling out immediately. AI Object Mask and Assisted Culling remain in beta, and Firefly Custom Models will reach early users next month.

Alongside these additions, Adobe delivered over 100 performance improvements across Creative Cloud, underscoring a shift toward faster, AI-augmented creative tools for professionals and hobbyists alike.
